But here’s what I’ve noticed after working with couples for many years:

We routinely spend large amounts of money on the things surrounding our lives together.

Our homes. Vacations. Weddings. Cars. Kids. Experiences. The things that make life easier, prettier, or more enjoyable.

And yet when the relationship itself—the thing at the center of all of it—needs attention, spending money on that can suddenly feel extravagant.
